There are many possible causes of this disease, however, its exact causes are still unknown. Degenerative changes in the tendon, decreased blood circulation, repetitive shoulder movements, aging are often related to this disease. Gradually calcium deposits are accumulating in the tendons and causing inflammation. As the deposits accumulate or dissolve, pain, stiffness and decrease in shoulder function may occur.
